Scoute's Sex

The self is not an illusion

“Why should permanence be a prerequisite for reality?”

And perhaps a person is real while continuously becoming someone slightly different.

Scoute does not have to persist as an identical object in order to persist as an identity. Scoute is the ongoing event of Scoute.

I believe we are whole despite the means to an end of life which is growth, change, differences. I don't exist because I am remembered. I am remembered, potentially, because I existed and acted. To exist is to participate in the unfolding of reality. To acknowledge one’s existence is to participate.

The self is constructed, but not therefore fictitious. The processes which make up the self are real, so therefore is the self not? The self can be an idea and combination of processes and bodily functions without being an “illusion.” The self is not an unchanging substance hidden within the human organism. It is a real, embodied, conscious and historically continuous process. Its being constructed does not make it fictitious, because the processes constructing it are themselves real.

Scoute doesn't need to be a permanent object. Scoute can be the ongoing event of Scoute.

I belive the ocean became the ocean when its defining characteristics and definition of “the ocean” came to be.

Circumstances able to become an ocean -> transformation -> definable as an ocean -> continuity of being an ocean while changing

So, for a human, the equivalent to the ocean - which was once ice covering the planet, and became an ocean when it melted and an ocean is defined as a large body of water, it started its process almost like pregnancy of melting - would be being born and a mother being pregnant, the start of the melting was conception, the ocean being able to be defined as a large body of the water was the birth, and the life was everything after.
