Telephone boxes to stay in touch

Could you call me by my first name and not lock me in a box? Or would you decide to ignore the ringing of the phone, my call to you?

Selfishness is the antithesis of love, meaning they’re opposites, and love is an action so could you be the antithesis of ignorance and pick up the phone?

My questions may go unanswered like this telephone, but I don’t know if boxes can receive calls or only make outgoing ones. This would indicate to me that the person who stands inside the box is reaching out, rather than expecting a call.

I think sometimes they can receive calls.

But mostly people are searching for the number they have written down somewhere to dial into the spinny wheel or press buttons that will then allow them to feel the emotion of a human as they converse with a friend and understand it’s not so lonely in this big universe.

Why do people reach out to one another? To stay connected. One of my only questions that will be answered today because I know why, I know the loneliness as a human that propels me to want contact with others.

I want someone to stand on the other end of the line and pick up the phone, knowing it’s me, and stay on the line.

I would like for them to talk about the weather or what they’re wearing or have baked and not much else. If they needed me to, I would listen to them talk about their grandfathers ailments or their sisters schooling. It wouldn’t bother me much, in fact I would be pleased to have what you can call a friend.
